Daniel 9:20 Now while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God,

Daniel 9:21 while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.

Daniel 9:22 He gave me instruction and talked with me and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you insight with understanding.

Daniel 9:24 | 70 weeks decreed for Daniel’s people

Daniel 9:25 | 7 weeks and 62 week

Daniel 9:26 | The Messiah Cutoff

Daniel 9:26 "Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.

Danie6 9:27 | The Anti-Messiah

Daniel 9:27 "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate." /r/n

Alright, we're going to be taking a look this week, continuing on our study of the book of Daniel and taking a look at it from the prospect in perspective of being one who is a stranger an alien in a foreign land that we are. And as that we are in the world, but not of the world and we are called to be ambassadors for the Lord. So one of my questions today for you. Is Why? Are you a Christian or an another word that I prefer? Why are you a believer? For me, it comes down to one basic fact. Jesus rose from the dead.

By him, raising from the dead. It gives you pause to consider what else and that he is confirmed the Messiah. Jesus taught his disciples. And that teaching was confirmed by his resurrection, the scriptures throughout the scriptures will testify of him. And even Paul and his discussion in first. Corinthians says that the fact of Christ Resurrection and without if he didn't raise from the dead, then our faith is in vain. But he makes another case because he says not only did he raised from the dead. But he is the Messiah. The anointed one because he died, according to the scriptures he was buried. And he rose again, according to the Scriptures and those who were around him and his disciples did not quite understand all of that because their understanding and their preference in there. Perspective was that the Messiah would first lead them to a new Kingdom that would be here on Earth. And that they would throw off the Roman occupation and that all would be well. No one had ever considered that the Messiah would be. Crucified and so it shook their faith when he was.

Kills. Because the Messiah wasn't supposed to. But then when he rose from the dead. But they became invigorated in their faith with strengthen and he again taught them and as we saw in the scriptures about the when he was on the road to Amaze. He opened up their mind to the teachings of the scriptures concerning the Messiah. We're going to see in this half chapter of Daniel, a teaching about the Messiah that a lot of people kind of just gloss over and I see it as a very important, and relevant teaching related to the fact that Yeshua. Is the Messiah the Christ and so if you look in your scriptures to Daniel Chapter 9 starting with verse 20? It says this.

Now, while I was speaking in praying and confessing my sin and the scent of my people Israel and presenting my supplication. Before the Lord. My God, and behalf of the Holy Mountain in my God, while I was still speaking in prayer. Then the man. Gabriel, who I had seen in the vision previously came to me in my extreme weariness about that. Evening offering. And he gave me instructions and talk with me and said Oh Daniel I have come now forth to give you insight and with understanding at the beginning of your supplication. The command was issued, and I have come to tell you for you are highly esteem, so, give he to the message and gain understanding of. So we see that Daniel a couple of things as we saw last week. Daniel was a man of prayer, Daniel prayed Daniel prayed when it was in fashion. Daniel prayed when it was in fashion. Daniel prayed when it would cost him his life in Daniel prayed when he? Means of garden in last week. We took and he was reading Jeremiah and saw that in the prophecy of Jeremiah that they would be in captivity for 7 years and immediately started praying that God would do would God had promised to do to deliver Israel back to their Homeland and we see that he's pray. As he's praying he is doing so consistently.

And if you will fervently in both body and spirit. He is being worn out by what he's doing. He's praying. In confessing his sins. And then Gabriel comes. To him and he's familiar with Gabriel because he seen him in a previous vision. Now the interesting thing here is that it says that he was praying and it was about the time of the evening offerings and Gabriel comes it says the command was issued that I come to you when you started praying. Which gives us by implication that our prayers are not necessarily answered microwave crip quick there is a time from the time that Daniel start spraying and the Gabriel gets to him to give him some instruction so. If Daniel who makes a habit of frame is an effective prayer praise fervently. In Ashes in sackcloth and seeks God to do God's will. And there is a momentary time delay in a response. Maybe it's OK, when God doesn't immediately answer your prayer. Maybe God's not mad at you and maybe there is in some's in hidden in your life that he's just not responding because sometimes as we see in this the command was issued when he started this application. However, we're now know it's the evening time so it's at least one day. Before he gets a response so take a deep breath and just pray.

Second thing Gabriel sent not say how you doing. Bud yeah, you're highly esteemed. Everything is fine will see you because Daniels highly esteemed him because Daniel is concerned about God's people. Gabriel says I've come to give you understanding. I've come to give you. Insight into this vision in these things that you have seen. Again, the scriptures tell us that if we study gods were that his Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth. God is the one who issues truth, God is the one who helps us understand truth. Now I think it's pretty impressive that God send Gabriel to instruct Daniel. But we're went up on him, God has sent his Holy Spirit to us. So, in essence, I don't I'm not jealous of Daniel because Daniel gets at 8. Angelic vision visitor. I have spirit of God, dwelling within me and the spirit of God, telling me truth. So that I might have understanding. And instruction. And so now Gabor is going to say God has this plan.

You been praying about 70 years in God. But God has some short range goals and plans and some long range plans and, yes, God gave his prophet. Jeremiah understanding about a 70 year captivity. And, yes, you been praying with God. To give Daniel the longer term view of what God's plan is so in verse 20 Ford says this 70 weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish the transgression transgression to make an end of Sin to make atonement for. To bring in everlasting righteousness to see Love Visions and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place. So notice what the purpose is that there are 70 weeks that God has decreed. Which means when you hear about accrete is not an accident? It's a plant it's an order and so God has determined that for his people. Israel that there's going to be a 70 week period and the reason for that is to make an end of Sin to atone for iniquity to bring in an everlasting. The seal of visions and prophecy and to annoy the most holy place so during this 7070 week period of time at the end. These things are going to be accomplished. So God not only has a plan and set it in motion, he has a reason. We always like to say will God has a plan. Most of us have no clue what that plan is but we like to say God has a plan, especially when things aren't working, so well for us. You rarely hear somebody say. This really great thing happened to me, God has a plan. Usually, what you hear is this really, really terrible thing happened to me or my family or somebody. But God has a plan. We kind of tend to look at God's plans as a substitute for knowing that maybe this is a bad time. But God has something better for us. But it is true God has a plan, but that plan is determined to have outcomes. And these outcomes has been stated again to finish transgression to make an end of Sin to make atonement for iniquity to bring in everlasting righteousness to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place.

The purpose of God's plan. Then he says this so you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore the brief bill and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah, the Prince now. Some of your translation say the anointed one the Prince. There will be 7 weeks and 62 weeks. It will be built again with Plaza. Even in times of distress. So there is this 62 and 7 and then we're going to see later another week. So there are 70 weeks. But at this point is talks about 69 weeks 7 weeks and 62 weeks. Here's the problem when we're talking about. The weeks. Gabriel says there's going to be this period of time after there's been a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. So the question is. When does the time period start running so we can kind of count well part of the problem? Is there's at least 3 different degrees to talk about there was agreed by Cyrus, who permitted many of the Jews to return home, there was a very CRI. Allow them to rebuild the temple of things and then there was a decree issued today. Amaia to rebuild the walls and things like that, so there is argument when you start the countdown.

Part of this problem with the book of Daniel when you look at the various people who talk about it. It depends on their view of the book of Daniel so you have those who think that Daniel was written. Not when Daniel lived but at a time about the time of enter caucus the fourth. When he conquered and destroyed Jerusalem and had an abomination in the temple and they say in essence. Daniel is written in that period of time and therefore is not really anything talking about the future. Number one, I reject that in previous messages I've said that even Jesus says, and quotes Daniel and says when you've read Daniel about the abomination of Desolation. The other problem. No matter which degree you use in which time period? During this period of time doesn't add up. So this isn't enough time because this period time is about 164 BC. Which is too soon there's no significant with those who want to say? Well, the anointed one was the high priest and Anna caucuses, the kind of the anti My Scion whatever the problem was even if you can look at that. There wasn't.

Everlasting righteousness there wasn't atonement for sin their assembly destruction. So I disagree with those who've you that. Others say that these 70 weeks. The 67 to 62 and then the other 7 is. Just kind of a literary approach, it just it's just a. A period of. Allegory just kind of some kind of time and whatever. I never look at the scriptures as something is just allegorical in whatever. Yeah, it's possible that these are 70 periods of time. Just like it is possible that God created the earth in 6 periods of time. But I tend to think that God can do with God can do and therefore. I think God created the Earth. In 6 days and I think he's talking about definite periods of time. So I don't believe that it's symbolic periods of time and the ending is the second coming of Jesus. Begin then there's the third view. Which is a literal interpretation? Which says there's a period of about 490 years but as I said the problem is? When you start that period of running 538 PC when Cyrus gave permission to the Jews to return 458 PC when Adams exes gave a decree related temple or 458 PC. And he gave NIA Mia, the authority to build the walls. It seems when you look at at this about the building. The motor those things. It sounds like he's talking about NIA. Mia's degree so it would seem that that's the probable starting point. Now.

I'm going to share with you, a calculation by Acer Anderson. I don't know if surrender's and has it right. But I think he's onto something. And by that what it means is I believe that these that this is a literal interpretation to be determined literally. And I'm there to determine to defend the literal interpretation, but I'm not going to die on for Anderson's Hill. But it shows you how if it calculated, according to him? How exact God's word can be so under his calculation. If you take a look at when NIA Mia received his degree that happened about 4:45 BC. And if you go to 32 ad. That's 476 years, but there's no zero here. 365 days by 476 equals 31700, I'm start 173,740 days, +116 days for leap year. +24 days between March 14th when the decree was issued. And April 6, when it was believe that Jesus entered Jerusalem with a triumphal entry. Which equals 173,880 days? If you take the ancient Jewish calendar. Another ancient calendars. There calories were set on 360 day years and they would have leap years in those types of things. So Daniel Prophecy was saying that there would be 173,880 days. If you multiplied the 70 by. 483 years times 360, so in essence, according to the Prophet Daniel. When Jesus arrived and marched on that donkey to these statements of hose on a bless. It is, he who comes in the name of the Lord was the exact day. Daniel prophesied that the Messiah would come. I believe that Daniel new exact day that the Messiah would come now. The calculations may be different. Now, how he got to this was that he determined that Jesus started his ministry on the 15th year of Tiberius, which was 29 ad is also believe. Celebrated 4 passovers, which we ad 2980, 3080, 31 in his final one on AD 32 and so that his triumphal entry was probably on April 2nd. 32. Exactly 173,880 days when you start counting these days. Which tells me 2 things? It tells me that however you calculate this. That when the Messiah would show up with when Jesus showed up. And since there's been no one who showed up, who's been raised with it or qualified under any of the other scriptural. Clues of who the Messiah is. If Daniel's not right. Or if Daniel is right in Jesus is in the Messiah we got one. It's too late. So that is why I think a lot of people don't want to look at Daniel's prophecy. Because then they have to come to the realization, if he is profit. And these are literal time periods and not figurative then you gotta deal with the fact of Jesus or no one. So much so that many. In the Jewish community today have this saying that says because they've been so disappointed about the Messiah so they had the statement that says if you're planting a tree and you hear that the Messiah has come finish planting the tree and they go fit meet him. Well, the reason you can't meet him because he's already been here. And God set a decree not a kind of think will do this. A decree that is why I take this period time literally. But notice what else he says about this, then after the 62 weeks. The Messiah will be cut off and have nothing. I think one of the scriptures that Jesus taught his disciples on the road to Amaze was Daniel saying Daniel even saw that the Messiah. The anointed one. The Christ would be cut off would be crucified. And therefore even Daniel speaks of me and doesn't take Daniel by surprise that it is the Messiah, who is cut off because it is up into that point. It was well. The Messiah would live forever. Will the Messiah. It does live forever. He died was buried. Did what he was doing in both heaven and hell and reappeared resurrected? He does live forever. And so. When those people. Were yelling and screaming bless it? Is he who comes in the name of the Lord? They didn't even know how right they were. They were excited. They thought the Messiah was there and they were right. The problem was just a few days later. They yelled crucify him crucify him and he was and he was cut off. So here in this little explanation of Daniel that we can blow by saying I don't quite get the whole 62 and 400 it's confusing. But I believe Gabriel gave Daniel understanding.

Of what God's plan is and, yes, God's people are suffering. And yes, God's people will suffer but at the end of it. The Messiah will come and even after being cut off there will be as he said the finish of transgressions. To make an end of sin? To make atonement for an equity and to bring everlasting righteousness and Jesus to his death, burial and Resurrection did all of those things. After the 62 weeks. The Messiah will be cut off, and have nothing and the people of the Prince, who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and it's in will come with a flood even to the end. There will be war. Desolations are determined. Daniel is being told you have the people are going to be restored in this 7 year period. But it's not the end of God's plan and that God has a plan that the Messiah will be cut off, and when those things happen, it will seem that even evil starts to win, there will be wars and Desolations and this one. The firm common with many for one week, but in the middle of the week. He will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering and on the wing of abominations will come. One who makes desolate even until a complete destruction. One that is decreed is poured out on the one. That's the Anti Messiah that we called the antichrist that he has this period of one Week 7 years that he will seem to destroy the temple and all that is, we hold sacred even though after an initially he will make a covenant and will seem too. Any at the middle of that, he's going to make his. Plans known. And destroy the temple. But there is the Cree poured out on this one. Just as God has a decree for his people, he has a degree for those who are against his people. Whenever in life, you look up at the scoreboard, and think you're losing. The games not over. God has determined who wins and that's him. We simply are on his team. And even no matter how powerful and during this 7 year period of time when it may seem like. Who can with stand this one? An Angel. By the Kree of God will pick him up and cast them into hell. It's not a big battle, not a big controversy is not a big struggle God has determined it. As most of you know. I love to watch football, especially one particular team. And I get very antsy and nervous.

And I used too, and we still do I've got it. 'cause they're playing right now and it's being recorded, but I do?N't. I don't watch it anymore from where it used to be till the present. I would just watch. It now because I was too nervous. I want to know where they were, and I want to know that and the easiest game. Is a game that I know they've already want? There's no there's no stress. There's no Oh my goodness because my team won. And so when they throw an interception. That's OK 'cause. We win and when they formal ball. That's OK good. We win and when the other teams ahead that's OK, we win. It's OK people. In the real game of life, the one that counts. Our lives is already determined already Creed. We win so don't worry about the score know that God, who is so masterful in his. Authority as sovereign can even. Hundreds of years before predict the exact date that something will happen. And we may have difficulty and I said through Anderson may be wrong. In his calculation. But he is right in the fact that the Messiah was to come when the Messiah came. So. If Jesus is the Messiah. And he is. And if Jesus? Is the Messiah? And he rose again. And he did. And if Jesus? Said. All you are weak and heavy laden come to me, we should. And if he is told us. To love one another as he is loved us, then we must. If he is the Messiah and his sacrifice brings to us. The forgiveness of sins and Righteous. This then we should not take that lightly. And we should not give excuses to why our life is such a mess. When we can say every day is a new day coz. I've been forgiven. I've been born again. And because the Messiah.

Gave his body for me and his blood for me. And because God is in such control that he can determine hundreds of years before the day of what will happen then I can trust him. I can trust him when things are great. I can trust him. When things are just ordinary that I can trust him when it just seems like my life is falling apart. Because Yes God is in control, not have the good stuff or the bad stuff. But all the stuff. And he has a determination and decree for you and me. And that is all who come to me, I will not cast out. There is nothing. That you have done or could do it could prevent the love of God. That's how awesome he is that's how much we can trust him. And so I am a believer because Jesus in fact, rose from the dead, but it strengthens. My faith because I see that the Messiah died, according to the Scriptures was buried and Rose again, according to the scriptures, but not just that that he came on the exact day, according to the Scriptures. God's got this. And so I don't know this last week is going to happen. During my lifetime of your lifetime or my grandchildren's lifetime or whatever. But I do know this. It's going to happen. And so we need to strengthen our faith, and just as Daniel was praying and seeking God. And Gabriel came to bring him understanding. We need to pray and read the scriptures to gain insight and understanding so that our faith may not be shaken when it seems then we look up on the scoreboard, and we're behind. Because the decree against the entire Messiah will be poured out upon him just as Assuredly as a decree. They cut off the Messiah was issued, and he was restored. So even so, Lord come quickly and so we're going to sing as our song of commitment and reflection Jesus Messiah. Because that's who is predicted to be in that who he was and that's who he is. The scripture say that every hair on your head is counted. Your rising up and you're sitting down. Can you imagine how it's one thing Cig God planned the Messiah to the day? Your God is involved in your life, just as much as he knows all about you. And guess what? Love you, even more than you love yourself anyway. What a God we have? What a Messiah we have we are off love him follow him. In obey him and all god's People said.
